đ¨ Abstract
The Canadian Liberal government is proposing significant changes to the Privacy Act to facilitate easier sharing and reuse of personal data among federal agencies and their partners. The proposed changes aim to improve services and programs without requiring individual consent, while also enhancing privacy protections by recognizing privacy as a fundamental right and mandating assessments for data-driven decisions. The Privacy Act, which has remained largely unchanged since 1983, is open for public feedback until July 10.
