💨 Abstract
Graham Pearson, a mantle geochemist at the University of Alberta, has had a new mineral named after him, Grahampearsonite. This mineral, discovered inside a diamond from Brazil, is significant for its deep-Earth origins and unique chemical composition. Pearson's work has contributed to understanding the Earth's deep mantle and the history of plate tectonics. He has also pioneered techniques for geochemical analysis and established a renowned laboratory in Canada.
