💨 Abstract

A former Penticton mother, Tania Warner, and her seven-year-old daughter, Ayla, were released from ICE detention in Texas after more than two weeks. They were detained on March 14 despite being born in B.C. and living in Texas for five years. Their release was expedited due to public pressure. Warner described the detention conditions as prison-like. Their immigration issues stemmed from Warner's husband's past, but they found a legal solution.
