💨 Abstract

Canada's Information Commissioner Caroline Maynard criticized the Department of National Defence (DND) for failing to respond to Global News' Access to Information requests within the required 30-day period. Maynard found it "completely unacceptable" that senior officials refused to release the requested records, which included briefing binders for meetings with foreign counterparts and a prime minister's overseas trip. The DND's office of the Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy) was identified as the issue.
