💨 Abstract

Ontario plans to extend workplace safety and insurance coverage to about 29,000 health-care and support workers in privately run retirement homes and group homes. This change, announced by Labour Minister David Piccini, aims to protect front-line care workers, including nurses and personal support workers, who are currently not covered under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. The extension would ensure these workers are protected if they are injured or become ill on the job.
