💨 Abstract

A new strain of the norovirus, dubbed 'Kawasaki', is causing a significant surge in cases, running nearly double the pre-Covid level for this time of year. This new variant accounts for nearly 90% of cases and is highly contagious. Symptoms include sickness, diarrhoea, and can lead to dehydration, particularly in the young, elderly, or those with weakened immune systems.
