A former councillor, Darren Brown, has been sentenced to 18 years in jail for attempting to murder his wife Corrine Brown. The attack, described as the 'ultimate act of cowardice', occurred at their home in Wildmill, Bridgend, last year. Brown, who was still living with his wife despite separation, attacked her while she was vulnerable and attending to their child.
