💨 Abstract

A new antibiotic, gepotidacin, shows promise in treating super gonorrhoea, a treatment-resistant strain of the STI that is increasing in the UK. The antibiotic, which is already used for urinary tract infections, was found to be as effective as the current standard treatment in a study published in The Lancet. Gepotidacin can also treat strains resistant to current first-line treatments.
