💨 Abstract
After World War II, the UK faced a housing crisis with over 200,000 homes destroyed. Prefabricated homes, or "prefabs," were quickly constructed to address this. Built in factories and assembled on-site, around 156,623 prefabs were erected between 1945 and 1949, designed to last 10 years, but many are still standing today.
