💨 Abstract

Two experienced foragers were rescued from Sully Island, Wales, after potentially ingesting hemlock, a highly toxic plant. The Barry Dock RNLI responded to the scene, finding the pair anxious and with elevated pulse rates. Hemlock, which flowers in the summer and thrives near water, can be fatal in small amounts, causing respiratory failure. The foragers were swiftly returned to the mainland for treatment and later recovered.
