💨 Abstract

Despite the UK-US trade deal permitting 13,000 metric tonnes of American beef, major UK supermarkets like Tesco (28% market share) and Sainsbury's (15%) have no plans to stock it, preferring to source Irish and British beef. The deal also includes provisions for automobile tariffs, ethanol, and agricultural exports. However, it is not a comprehensive free trade agreement, and US baseline tariffs on imports remain.
