💨 Abstract
Conservative MP Patrick Spencer, representing Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, has had the party whip suspended after being charged with two counts of sexual assault. The alleged incidents occurred at the Groucho Club in central London in August 2023. Spencer will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 16. Suspension of the whip means Spencer is temporarily independent from the Conservative Party, though he remains an MP.
