A massive dust storm, visible from space, swept through Chicago, causing near-zero visibility, halting traffic, and prompting the National Weather Service to issue a rare dust storm warning. The storm extended 100 miles, affecting areas from southwest Chicago to northern Indiana. Residents were advised against travel due to wind gusts up to 60 mph. Additionally, several states were warned of potential severe storms, including tornadoes and large hail.
