💨 Abstract

A commuter evaded £20,000 in train fares over three years by using "doughnut tickets" and an ineligible railcard. He bought short tickets between Vauxhall and Waterloo, avoiding the full fare from Surrey. South Western Railway's revenue protection team caught him after an eight-week investigation. The man admitted to the offenses and faced an out-of-court settlement.
