💨 Abstract
This week, the UK experienced heavy, thundery showers, and questions arose about funnel clouds or tornadoes in the South East. The Met Office confirmed that while rare, tornadoes do occur in the UK, with around 30 recorded each year. For the bank holiday weekend, however, the risk of funnel clouds or tornadoes has diminished due to changing weather patterns. Expect fresher, windier conditions with heavy rain, particularly in the northwest.
