On Friday evening in Rusholme, Greater Manchester, a police sergeant was severely injured when a driver allegedly reversed into him multiple times and fled. The 41-year-old driver was arrested for assault, dangerous driving, and failing to stop. The sergeant's injuries are not life-threatening. The police have condemned the assault, highlighting the daily risks officers face. They are investigating the incident and seeking any CCTV or dash cam footage. The injured officer is receiving support from colleagues.
