💨 Abstract

The RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kitty Scott-Claus discussed the impact of a Supreme Court ruling that transgender people should not use facilities corresponding with gender identity. She condemned the ruling as dehumanising, reflecting on that even in drag, those with non-heteronormative appearances deal with such difficult situations. The ruling creates uncertainty for drag performers and stigmatizes transgender people. Members are urged to recall the activist roots of Pride to dismantle the restrictive policies materialized by the ruling.
