💨 Abstract

Seven people died, and dozens were injured after two bridges in Russia were destroyed in overnight explosions. In the Bryansk region, a bridge collapse caused a passenger train to derail, killing seven and injuring 69. Another bridge in the Kursk region toppled while a freight train was passing, injuring three. Russia's Investigative Committee attributed both incidents to explosions. Ukraine has targeted Russia’s rail network since the 2022 invasion.
