💨 Abstract
A woman, Erin Patterson, is on trial for allegedly poisoning her ex-in-laws and her ex-husband's sister-in-law with death cap mushrooms during a meal. Don and Gail Patterson, and Heather Wilkinson died, while Ian Wilkinson survived. Investigators found online searches related to the mushrooms on Patterson's device. She admitted to possibly conducting the searches but denied intent. The victims' symptoms were consistent with death cap mushroom poisoning. The trial is ongoing.
