💨 Abstract

The author reflects on the challenges of raising teenagers in an era of constant screen exposure. Although she set rules like "no screens in bedrooms" and delayed buying smartphones, she didn't anticipate the allure of the family computer hidden in the basement which led children to spend several hours gaming. All of her children noted, years later, that enforcing screen time regulations could have benefited them. Realizing it was hard, she advised setting boundaries and ensuring open communication about the online risks.
