💨 Abstract

Six weeks following a major power outage in Spain and Portugal, Spanish authorities attributed the blackout to technical and planning errors. The outage began around 12.30 pm on April 28, lasting until the following day, affecting businesses, transportation, and communication. Spain's ecological transition minister, Sara Aagesen, identified initial grid failures in the south of Spain that triggered a chain reaction, ruling out cyber-attacks.
