đ¨ Abstract
Nintendo's new Switch 2 console is designed to detect and penalize the use of pirated or modified software. Users attempting to use a MIG Switch cartridge, which allows for game backups or piracy, have found their consoles permanently banned from online services. This ban is hardware-based and cannot be reversed by unlinking accounts or performing a factory reset. Nintendo has updated its user agreement to warn against such activities, but it's unlikely to deter determined users.
