💨 Abstract
Researchers from Zhejiang University in China have found that chemical differences in earwax may indicate Parkinson’s disease. Earwax, primarily composed of sebum, showed distinct compound levels in individuals with Parkinson’s. An algorithm analyzing these compounds accurately predicted Parkinson’s 94% of the time. Key compounds included ethylbenzene, 4-ethyltoluene (linked to brain inflammation), and pentanal (linked to protein clumps in the brain).
