💨 Abstract

Tom Grennan, a 30-year-old UK musician, recently underwent surgery to remove metal plates from his jaw, which were implanted after he was attacked at 18. The surgery was a relief, as it removed physical reminders of the traumatic event. Grennan has openly discussed the lasting mental and physical impacts of the attack, which included depression and suicidal thoughts. He credited the trauma with inspiring his songwriting. Additionally, Grennan has struggled with anxiety, exacerbated by recent tendon surgery.
