💨 Abstract
A man, Rakeem Miles, was convicted of manslaughter for punching Samuel Winter, an AI engineer who brushed past him on an escalator at Southwark underground station. The altercation, after which Winter died from brain injuries, do not appear to have been provoked by Winter. After the killing, Miles fled the scene, only to be found and arrested the next morning thanks to the use of his Oyster card.
