💨 Abstract
In 1984, LGBTQ+ activists in London, led by Mike Jackson and Mark Ashton, decided to support striking miners who were protesting the closure of coal mines in the UK. Mike's group, Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), raised significant funds and fostered an unlikely friendship, leading to a reciprocal support that bolstered LGBTQ+ rights.
