Baggage fees are a significant, often hidden, cost of air travel, and they vary widely among airlines. European Parliament has proposed allowing an extra piece of free hand luggage (up to 7kg) but this requires further approval. Airlines like Jet2 allow more carry-on than typical budget airlines.
