💨 Abstract
A 300-year-old Portuguese shipwreck, likely the Nossa Senhora do Cabo, was found in Madagascar. The ship, carrying 200 enslaved people and valuable cargo, was attacked by pirates in 1721. Over 3,300 artifacts, including religious icons and treasure, were recovered. The haul is valued at £108 million. The fate of the enslaved individuals remains unknown.
