💨 Abstract

Veteran voice actor James Carter Cathcart, known for his roles as Professor Oak, Meowth, and James in "Pokémon," passed away at 71. He succumbed to throat cancer in July 2025. Cathcart began his "Pokémon" career in 1998 and continued until 2020. Besides "Pokémon," he voiced characters in "Sonic X" and the Shadow the Hedgehog game.
