💨 Abstract
On Nermin Subašić's 16th birthday, war broke out in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nearly two years later, he was among the 8,372 Bosniaks executed by Bosnian Serb forces in the Srebrenica massacre. His mother, Munira, now president of Mothers of Srebrenica, lost 23 family members, including Nermin and her husband.
