💨 Abstract
Britain's oldest WWII veteran, Donald Rose, has passed away at 110. Born on Christmas Eve 1914, Rose served in North Africa, Italy, and France, participating in the D-Day landings and the liberation of Belsen concentration camp. In May, he attended VE Day commemorations and received the freedom of the borough of Erewash. He was known for his humility, stating his actions were no different from any other soldier's.
