💨 Abstract

A beachgoer was critically injured after lightning struck multiple people at St Augustine Pier, Florida. Firefighters treated three individuals, with one worsely injured and another with minor injuries. Witnesses described a sudden, bright flash followed by a loud boom. The pier was temporarily closed due to damage. Authorities warned about the dangers of lightning and urged people to seek shelter during storms. Florida sees the most lightning strikes in the U.S., with significant annual fatalities.
