💨 Abstract

A massive fire at the Gabriel House assisted living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, resulted in nine deaths and at least 30 injuries. Firefighters and police officers rescued residents, some of whom were hanging out of windows, with officers carrying non-ambulatory residents to safety. The building, which houses about 70 occupants, saw a significant rescue effort involving 50 firefighters, with five also injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
