💨 Abstract
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warns that children under seven should avoid slushies due to the risk of glycerol intoxication. For children aged 7-10, the limit is 350ml per day. High glycerol intake can lead to shock, low blood sugar, and loss of consciousness. Parents should check for glycerol in products or consult sellers. Since 2022, there have been nine confirmed cases of glycerol intoxication in young children in the UK.
