💨 Abstract

Alaska Airlines, the fifth-largest U.S. airline, grounded its entire fleet of 283 planes due to a software outage. The disruption, affecting both Alaska Airlines and its subsidiary Horizon Air, will likely continue to impact travel plans. The airline apologized to passengers and advised them to check flight statuses before heading to the airport. This incident follows a previous grounding of Boeing aircraft after a panel came off one of its planes in 2024.
