💨 Abstract
Protests have erupted in Epping and Canary Wharf over the housing of asylum seekers in hotels. Demonstrators clash with police and chant anti-immigrant slogans. Protest followed the arrest of an asylum seeker from Epping on sexual assault charges. The Home Office denies moving migrants from the Bell Hotel, Epping, to the Britannia Hotel, with Tower Hamlets Council. The cost of policing the Epping disorder reached £100,000.
