💨 Abstract
Sarina Wiegman, England's women's football coach, explained that Jess Carter's exclusion from the starting lineup for the Euro 2025 semi-final against Italy was a tactical decision. Carter, a centre-back, revealed she had received racist abuse and would take a step back from social media post-match. Carter’s omission was the only change to the team, with Esme Morgan replacing her. Gianni Infantino from FIFA condemned the racist messages.
