đ¨ Abstract
Ministers in the UK are planning to regulate e-scooters due to safety concerns and their use in crimes. Proposed measures include licensing, tests, insurance, age limits, and a speed limit of 12.5mph. Currently, private e-scooters are banned on public roads but are commonly used. Over 20,000 e-scooter-related crimes were reported in three years, and there have been serious injuries and fatalities involving pedestrians.
