💨 Abstract
Thousands of Brits who took time off between 1978 and 2010 to care for children or someone with a disability may be owed tens of thousands of pounds in state pension due to National Insurance gaps. This issue, stemming from a system called Home Responsibilities Protection (HRP), means carers may not have accrued sufficient National Insurance credits.
