💨 Abstract
A 12-year-old Mexican schoolgirl, Romina 'La Bambita' Castan, was set to make her professional boxing debut, but the World Boxing Council (WBC) intervened to halt the fight. The WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman, called the plans an "atrocity" and successfully stopped the event. The WBC will now guide Castan's amateur career, ensuring she follows proper age regulations.
