💨 Abstract
Tooth decay is a significant reason why children, especially those from low-income families, miss school days. A study of over 260,000 Scottish children showed that those with tooth decay missed about five more half-days of school per year. Poor oral health affects learning and attendance, with children in deprived areas missing nearly twice as many days.
