💨 Abstract

A couple left their 10-year-old son at Barcelona Airport because his passport had expired and he couldn't board their flight. They arranged for a relative to pick him up but left before the relative arrived. Airport staff found the boy alone and called the police, leading the plane to return. The parents were taken to the airport's police station. The incident shocked an air traffic controller who shared the story online. The airport and police have not yet verified the details.
