💨 Abstract

A convicted Al Qaeda captain, Haroon Aswat, may be released from a UK psychiatric hospital without a formal risk assessment due to a legal loophole, reports state. Aswat, who was jailed in the US for 20 years in 2015, served only seven years, including time in a UK psychiatric unit. He helped establish a terrorist training camp in Oregon and has ties to the 7/7 bombings and 9/11 attacks.
