💨 Abstract

In 2010, a mine collapse in Chile's Atacama Desert trapped 33 miners underground for 69 days. Initially, they had no contact with the outside world, surviving on minimal food and water. Eventually, a drill made contact, allowing communication and eventual rescue. The miners endured harsh conditions and psychological stress. Rescue efforts were complex due to the depth and geology. After their rescue, the miners received global attention and support.
