💨 Abstract
In August 1945, the U.S. dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, marking the beginning of the nuclear age and ending World War II. Survivors recall the horror of the blasts, which instantly killed tens of thousands and left many more with injuries and radiation poisoning. Eight decades later, the few remaining survivors share their testimonies to ensure such horrors are never repeated.
