💨 Abstract
Four new tarantula sub-species, collectively named "satyrex," have been discovered in the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa. These tarantulas are notable for their extraordinarily long reproductive appendages, or palps, which can measure up to 5 cm. The males use these long palps to mate from a safe distance, avoiding the aggressive females. These tarantulas live underground and are highly defensive.
