Tottenham midfielder James Maddison will miss most of the upcoming season after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee during a pre-season match against Newcastle. Maddison is set for surgery, followed by extensive rehabilitation. This is the same knee that previously sidelined him during the Europa League final. Head Coach Thomas Frank confirmed the severity, expressing concern and noting the challenging moments. Tottenham is supporting Maddison throughout his recovery.
