💨 Abstract

Due to a lack of rain and hot weather, over 8.5 million people in the UK are under hosepipe bans from South East Water, Southern Water, Thames Water, and Yorkshire Water. Temperatures are expected to reach 34°C in some areas before slightly dropping. Restrictions allow watering cans for gardens and some exemptions for new lawns and fish ponds. Water companies will monitor levels and lift bans when demand reduces and reserves replenish.
