💨 Abstract

Women with endometriosis often receive ill-informed advice to get pregnant to alleviate symptoms. A Metro investigation found that 79% of surveyed women had been told this, despite a lack of clinical evidence supporting it. Endometriosis UK labels this a healthcare scandal. Emma Prach, diagnosed at 17, and the reporter, both received this advice, leaving them feeling hopeless. Pregnancy may temporarily ease pain by stopping periods, but symptoms can return post-pregnancy.
