💨 Abstract
During the making of "Taxi Driver" in 1976, director Martin Scorsese threatened to get a gun after being asked to reduce violent scenes. Steven Spielberg recalled Scorsese's frustration, who joked about stealing the film's rough cut rather than cutting violent content. The incident involved a scene where a character loses a hand. Scorsese eventually toned down the colors and added graininess to the film, preserving the violence.
